6:Road of Trials/7:Meeting with the Goddess

Down The Rabbit Hole and Back

I started writing about the Hero’s Journey at the beginning of this project. I definitely saw that Alice isn’t a hero at all. She might have some qualities that hero’s have but that doesn’t make her one.

The next of Campbell’s steps is number 6, Road of Trials. This is the path and journey of the character as they go through and what happens in their adventure. Alice did have this aspect in her adventure through wonderland after she got through the rabbit hole that’s when her journey started and most of her things from there on are now qualify her for her journey to begin being a hero. But don’t most all characters have the path of learning the good and bad of things. Alice learned a lot from her adventure but will she use any of it when it’s all over with?

Next is step 7: The Meeting with the…

The Protesters Oath

  1. One must place a sign in front of any scene that could possibly be seen as illegal or covered by Big Media.
  2. The sign must clearly state, whom you are standing against
  3. The sign should include your picture I.D. so that the Big Media covers your story properly from the start.
  4. In its original form, it requires a new Protester to swear, by a number of healing gods, to uphold specific ethical standards. Of historic and traditional value, the oath is considered a rite of passage for practicing Modern Protests in many countries, although nowadays various modernized versions are often used.

    Modern version

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:…

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those WCB / WSIB Protesters in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for life insurance because this volunteer work isn’t covered by WCB / WSIB the benefit of the sick, all measures which are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug, double edge sword of this

I will not be ashamed to say “I know not,” nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a injured worker’s recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humility and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose mental illness may affect the person’s family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the disabled.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live capable or disabled and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help carrying a Protest sign.

  5. “First do no harm”

It is a popular misconception that the phrase “First do no harm” (Latin: Primum non nocere) is a part of the Hippocratic oath. Strictly speaking, the phrase does not appear in the oath, although the oath does contain “Also I will, according to my ability and judgment, prescribe a regimen for the health of the sick; but I will utterly reject harm and mischief to either side of the protest”, in Latin “Victus quoque rationem ad aegrotantium salutem pro facultate, judicioque meo adhibebo, noxamvero et maleficium propulsabo”.[6]

Another equivalent phrase is found in Epidemics, Book I, of the Hippocratic school: “Practice two things in your dealings with disease: either help or do not harm the patient”.[7] The exact phrase is believed to have originated with the 19th-century surgeon Thomas Inman.[8]

Bee Tree

I might never be …. but I am that I am …. in a moment I could be perfect …. or I might need to lean on someone …. I might even be walking ahead, but the sparrow would be in my rear view mirror …. when life goes on end, everlasting wasn’t ripe but fresh, fresh, fresh … many starts, many firsts ‘ thirsts, growing at times even like a teen weed. The bloom is before the seed burst … a flower in a jar without a bee, I grew to be a tree …

The disabled Story Tiller

Stuck in his journey, the store teller had to first discover who he was. He searched high and low, even found his shadow, but he just couldn’t find creativity. One Christmas he even waited to be gifted with creativity, but it did not arrive. Without this precious jewel, he could never sell anything threw his till.

As he grew up, he explored more and more he even wonder what the meaning of life was. When told 42, he felt even more lost. It wasn’t till his life met him half ways, that the fog lifted up. Looking back he could couldn’t count to 100, but he managed to count the steps where he had been and came up with 24.

If this was history, and history repeats he thought then the future must also have steps. So he turned around and counted as many as he could into the horizon, when suddenly   he couldn’t see any more either way.

He wondered if he had, had a childhood that he couldn’t recall, if he would have a retirement that he couldn’t see. Last but not least as he still sat on this step he wondered, if any of the next were worth while.

Suddenly it hit him that 24 + 24 was not 42 but rather 48. He hadn’t rested 1 day, but 6 days in 1

No longer a Red Sleigh

Chariot of fire

No longer with wings

I have fallen

Languages lost

you have even forgotten

my name

In the Now

I am unknown ‘n New

But won’t remain

an end you’ll see

like a bow

one day towed by sea

a harbor where I’ll rest

on the 7th I’ll do my best

from underground

you’ll rediscover me

but from the ground

I won’t know thee

Awakened you won’t know

where I am

By a Stream

When one rises and others fall

It is I, who can spark, in the dark

Suddenly there arose, followed by a stream

Leading the flow, followed by a big bang

that lite up the sky

the earth was shaking

the shacks shook, by every creature even a mouse

and the fires burned wildly out of control

for the new growth, of the New World …
